Gary Calhoun’s writing explores relationships, navigating life, and stories universal in nature. His current memoir is a story of resilience, hope, and emotional survival. His essays touch the heart and soul of readers.

 

Before turning to writing he enjoyed a long career as a clinical psychologist, receiving numerous awards during his career. He is an Eagle Scout and Veteran of the U.S. Army. His writing has been featured in International Literary magazines. He brings a unique perspective gained from decades of working with clients from all backgrounds.

 

Gary lives in NC with his wife, who is also a retired clinical psychologist. When not writing Gary enjoys reading, traveling, and cooking. Gary’s reading taste is as varied as his taste in music. Gary enjoys spending time among the trees and listening to nature. To allow him to continue enjoying the outdoors he maintains a healthy lifestyle through fitness and a healthy diet. When traveling Gary enjoys getting off the beaten path and spending time with the locals.
